TNEU students participated in an internship at Palessie State University (Pinsk)
During 4th-9th of March, TNEU students were on internship in Palessie State University (Pinsk) and had the opportunity to discover Belarus in a new light. The trip was filled with bright emotions and memorable events, new acquaintances and valuable experiences.
During the internship students had an opportunity to discover the peculiarities of the educational process, cultural heritage, opportunities and traditions of the university, the city of Pinsk and Belarus as a whole. The stay was eventful: interesting lectures, communication with teachers and students, exchange of contacts, visits to the sports complex, excursions, a trip to Brest and much more.
Grand opening of the next academic semester within the framework of the project "Ukraine - Norway"
As part of the project at TNEU, the grand opening of the next semester was held on February 22, 2019 for more than 30 people who became students.
The diplomatic dialogue between the Kingdom of Norway and Ukraine started many years ago. A close political relationship was established between the two states, visits, meetings, and implemented projects were organized not only at the national level, but also in the regional centres.
On September 24, 2003, the Ukrainian-Norwegian project "Retraining and social adaptation of servicemen and their families in Ukraine" was launched. From 2003 to 2018, about 10,000 people participated in it. The aim of the project is to reduce the impact of the negative social consequences of economic reforms and reforms of the defense sector of Ukraine for dismissed soldiers and their families. Assistance for rehabilitating servicemen has been offered in more than 40 Ukrainian cities, including in 20 educational establishments, including Ternopil National Economic University.
TNEU joined Baltic University Programme, Uppsala (Sweden)
The Baltic University Programme (BUP) seeks to find new ways for universities to interact with each other and the society. Its goal is to build and strengthen the local and international educational communities. BUP is an innovative network at its core.
Today, approximately 230 universities and other educational institutions in the Baltic Sea Region are part of the Programme. The BUP Coordinating Secretariat manages the Programme and is headquartered at Uppsala University (Uppsala, Sweden). Uppsala University is the oldest and one of the largest universities in Sweden. The Uppsala University has nine faculties: Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Educational Sciences, Faculty of Languages, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Theology.
The programme's work focuses on issues of sustainable development, environmental protection and democracy in the Baltic Sea Region. The goal is to support the key role universities play in the democratic, peaceful and sustainable development. This is achieved through the development of university courses, support for multidisciplinary research projects and participation in transdisciplinary projects in collaboration with authorities, municipalities and other institutions. In addition, membership in the Baltic University Programme gives the university member the right to send students and teachers to courses and to attend conferences.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Ukraine visited TNEU
On February 6th, a delegation from the Hungarian Embassy in Ukraine headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Ukraine István Íjgyártó visited Ternopil National Economic University.
Guests were greeted by the rector of TNEU, Andriy Krysovatyy, the university professors and students. After the solemn ceremony of raising the state flags of Ukraine and Hungary, the rector briefly addressed the audience, speaking of international cooperation and future endevours.
During a short excursion around the university, the delegation had an opportunity to get acquainted with the infrastructure of the University, its history, achievements of students and faculty members.
The day ended with the meeting of the Academic Council, during which the rector proposed new Ukrainian-language courses for students of the Svaliava branch, while the visitors shared information on sustainable development of local communtes in V4 countries.
Delegation from the Celestial Empire visited TNEU
On the eve of the Chinese New Year, a delegation from the People's Republic of China - representatives of The Ukrainian Study Abroad Centre - visited the Ternopil National Economic University.
Over the course of the visit, Ternopil National Economic University announced its intentions to establish scientific and educational cooperation with the Ukrainian Study Abroad Centre. Confirmation of further partnership was the conclusion of a Cooperation Agreement between TNEU and The Ukrainian Study Abroad Center. The corresponding document was signed by rector A.I.Krisovyty and director of the company.
TNEU in the updated Webometrics Ranking of World Universities
Recently Webometrics Ranking of World Universities (January 2019, Edition 2019.1.0.) was updated. According to the rating, Ternopil National Economic University ranked 6th among Ukrainian higher education institutions (https://www.webometrics.info/en/Europe/Ukraine%20)!
Webometrics University Ranking, is compiled by one of the largest research institutions in Europe, the Spanish National Research Council, and evaluates almost 30,000 higher education institutions from around the globe. This year 326 Ukrainian higher education institutions were considered in the rating.
Universities are evaluated using a combination of four indicators:
- PRESENCE - the number of pages on the websites in the main domain of the institution (including sub-domains and directories) that are indexed by the Google search engine - 5%;
- VISIBILITY - the number of external hyperlinks to the domain of the university - 50%;
- TRANSPARENCY - the number of citations of the top authors of the institution (the top ten authors with the exception of data on the most cited author) in the Google Academy (Top Universities by Google Scholar Citations) - 10%;
- EXCELLENCE - publicationsby the university staff in the international scientific journals that are among 10% of the most cited in their field according to the Scimago rating (for the five-year period (2012-2016) - 35%.
Winter School WINT 2019 opened today
The WINT 2019 Winter School, organized within the framework of the ERASMUS + Aliot project, took place at the Ternopil National Economic University from January 31 to February 3, 2019.
Representatives of TNEU participated in the work of the School: prof. Anatolii Sachenko , prof. Volodymyr Kochan, assoc. prof. Vasyl Yatskiv, assoc. prof. Vasyl Koval, assoc. prof. Hryhorii Hladii, assoc. prof. Zbyshek Dombrovskyi, PhD Oleksandr Osolinskyi, PhD Myroslav Komar, PhD Pavlo Bykovyi, PhD Diana Zahorodnia, PhD Taras Tsavolyk, Vitalii Dorosh, Ivan Kit, Stanislav Novosad, Andrii Kanovskyi. The scientists presented reports on the topics: «Deep learning for IoT», «Суbersecurity of IoT based on Blockchain technology», «IoT for Smart energy grid: Integrating the smart grid components in IOT environment», «IoT Application for Intelligent Transport Systems».
Representatives of Ukrainian and foreign partner universities also participated in the Winter School.
Anetta Zielinska was awarded the Honorary Title of Doctor Honoris Causa
Today, the first meeting of the Academic Council in 2019 took place in Ternopil National Economic University. The meeting began with the ceremony of awarding the honorary title of Doctor Honoris Causa to professor of the Wroclaw University of Economics (Republic of Poland) Anetta Zielinska.
Professor has been working with the TNEU scientific community for many years and is the official representative of Wroclaw Economic University rector in all matters pertaining to the cooperation with the Ternopil National Economic University.
She once again presented her scientific achievements to TNEU Academic Council, after which the members unanimously supported the idea of conferring the honorary title.
A new vector of cooperation with the Polissia State University
On December 26, the teaching staff of the Ternopil National Economic University welcomed guests from Polissia State University (Pinsk, Republic of Belarus): Rector - Konstantyn Shebeko, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work - Olga Zolotarev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics - Iryna Zborina, Dean of the Banking Faculty - Ihor Yankovskyi and Head of the Information Technology Center - Pavlo Pigal.
The Rector welcomed the guests and introduced them to the University Deans. He also shared some information on the international activites of TNEU.
Konstantyn Shebeko shared his thoughts on the cooperation between the two Universities, while Pavlo Pigal told the audience about Polissia State University's history, structure, educational services and international activities.
Peers from the new partener institutions discussed many topics, including the most popular educational areas and competitiveness on the Belarussian educational market. Polissia State Univerisity is currently the home of 200 teachers, 1100 part-time and 2500 full-time students. It includes 5 faculties, 15 departments, and 10 laboratories. Apart from TNEU, it also collaborates with various institutions from Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Germany, China, and participates in the ERASMUS+ programme.
The visit ended with the ceremonial signing of the cooperation agreement between Ternopil National Economic University and Polissia State University that will bring many new opportunities for the staff and students of both Institutions.
TNEU was highly ranked by the UI GreenMetric
On December 19, 2018, the University of Indonesia (UI) published the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2018. This year, 719 universities from 81 countries were considered.
U-Multirank is a multidimensional approach to the international ranking of higher education institutions. It compares the universities in five dimensions: 1 - teaching and learning, 2 - research, 3 - knowledge transfer, 4 - international orientation and 5 - regional involvement. The UI GreenMetric is the first and only university ranking in the world that measures the commitment of each university to developing an environmentally friendly infrastructure.
U-Multirank is an independent rating financed through the Erasmus+ programme by the European Commission. The work of the U-Multirank consortium is supervised by the Advisory Board. The U-Multirank Transparency approach allows students, universities, businesses, policymakers and governments to be better informed about the work of universities around the world.
