Winter School WINT 2019 opened today
The WINT 2019 Winter School, organized within the framework of the ERASMUS + Aliot project, took place at the Ternopil National Economic University from January 31 to February 3, 2019.
Representatives of TNEU participated in the work of the School: prof. Anatolii Sachenko , prof. Volodymyr Kochan, assoc. prof. Vasyl Yatskiv, assoc. prof. Vasyl Koval, assoc. prof. Hryhorii Hladii, assoc. prof. Zbyshek Dombrovskyi, PhD Oleksandr Osolinskyi, PhD Myroslav Komar, PhD Pavlo Bykovyi, PhD Diana Zahorodnia, PhD Taras Tsavolyk, Vitalii Dorosh, Ivan Kit, Stanislav Novosad, Andrii Kanovskyi. The scientists presented reports on the topics: «Deep learning for IoT», «Суbersecurity of IoT based on Blockchain technology», «IoT for Smart energy grid: Integrating the smart grid components in IOT environment», «IoT Application for Intelligent Transport Systems».
Representatives of Ukrainian and foreign partner universities also participated in the Winter School.
Anetta Zielinska was awarded the Honorary Title of Doctor Honoris Causa
Today, the first meeting of the Academic Council in 2019 took place in Ternopil National Economic University. The meeting began with the ceremony of awarding the honorary title of Doctor Honoris Causa to professor of the Wroclaw University of Economics (Republic of Poland) Anetta Zielinska.
Professor has been working with the TNEU scientific community for many years and is the official representative of Wroclaw Economic University rector in all matters pertaining to the cooperation with the Ternopil National Economic University.
She once again presented her scientific achievements to TNEU Academic Council, after which the members unanimously supported the idea of conferring the honorary title.
A new vector of cooperation with the Polissia State University
On December 26, the teaching staff of the Ternopil National Economic University welcomed guests from Polissia State University (Pinsk, Republic of Belarus): Rector - Konstantyn Shebeko, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work - Olga Zolotarev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics - Iryna Zborina, Dean of the Banking Faculty - Ihor Yankovskyi and Head of the Information Technology Center - Pavlo Pigal.
The Rector welcomed the guests and introduced them to the University Deans. He also shared some information on the international activites of TNEU.
Konstantyn Shebeko shared his thoughts on the cooperation between the two Universities, while Pavlo Pigal told the audience about Polissia State University's history, structure, educational services and international activities.
Peers from the new partener institutions discussed many topics, including the most popular educational areas and competitiveness on the Belarussian educational market. Polissia State Univerisity is currently the home of 200 teachers, 1100 part-time and 2500 full-time students. It includes 5 faculties, 15 departments, and 10 laboratories. Apart from TNEU, it also collaborates with various institutions from Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Germany, China, and participates in the ERASMUS+ programme.
The visit ended with the ceremonial signing of the cooperation agreement between Ternopil National Economic University and Polissia State University that will bring many new opportunities for the staff and students of both Institutions.
TNEU was highly ranked by the UI GreenMetric
On December 19, 2018, the University of Indonesia (UI) published the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2018. This year, 719 universities from 81 countries were considered.
U-Multirank is a multidimensional approach to the international ranking of higher education institutions. It compares the universities in five dimensions: 1 - teaching and learning, 2 - research, 3 - knowledge transfer, 4 - international orientation and 5 - regional involvement. The UI GreenMetric is the first and only university ranking in the world that measures the commitment of each university to developing an environmentally friendly infrastructure.
U-Multirank is an independent rating financed through the Erasmus+ programme by the European Commission. The work of the U-Multirank consortium is supervised by the Advisory Board. The U-Multirank Transparency approach allows students, universities, businesses, policymakers and governments to be better informed about the work of universities around the world.

TNEU scientists conducted a workshop in Krakow
In accordance with the Cooperation Agreement between the Ternopil National Economic University and the Institute for European Integration (Republic of Poland), within the framework of the Center for International Education and Development established by the two parties, a delegation from the University (Professor Desiatniuk, Associate Professor Koruts, senior lecturer Tytor, senior lecturer Kekish, Associate Professor Valihura) participated in the workshop "Conducting economic activity in Ukraine for foreigners: legal, tax and customs aspects". The workshop took place in Krakow (Republic of Poland) during October 18-19 for the "PGNiG" company (Naftogaz, Poland).
Institute for Regional Development of TNEU participated in the Forum "Client-Oriented Business"
In order to establish contacts with business representatives, acquaintance with the possibilities of participation in grant programs, the head of the project management laboratory of the Institute of Regional Development of the Ternopil National Economic University Olena Borysiak took part in the Forum "Client-Oriented Business" in Ternopil.
The event was organized by the Center for Information Support of Business (Ivano-Frankivsk), created on the basis of the Club of Business People of Ukraine with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development under the EU4Business initiative. The forum was attended by over 100 business representatives.
Day of Student Self-Government at TNEU
Yesterday, on October 23, in Ternopil National Economic University, activists organized the Day of Student Self-Government. This event plays an important role in the life of the university, because leadership skills must be developed in a student environment. In the morning, Rector of the University Andriy Krysovatyy and the chairman of the University Student Council Stanislav Novosad signed a Memorandum, which regulated the procedure for the functioning of the TNEU structural units on the day of student self-government.
Each of the student activists had the opportunity to gain valuable experience, to learn more about the activities of the structural units of TNEU, to get acquainted with interesting people, and also offered their own ideas for their further practical implementation. The day ended with a meeting of administration, during which University activists reported about the work done.
Danish delegation visited TNEU
From October 11 to October 17, a delegation from the Kingdom of Denmark visited Ternopil National Economic University. This study visit gave Danish students the opportunity to attend lectures, visit companies and get acquainted with the culture of Ukraine.
On October 16, three teachers and nine master students from the Business School of Aarhus University (Denmark) arrived at TNEU. The students of the Ukrainian-Dutch faculty-programme told Danish guests interesting facts about Ukraine, presented Ternopil, and also gave a detailed account of the past and present of the Ternopil National Economic University. Danish students, in turn, shared information about Denmark and the Aarhus University.
After the presentations, an interesting discussion on various aspects of student life and study in Denmark unfolded. It was nice to see not only our students, but also pupils of the Ternopil Specialized School №3, who actively communicated with the guests at this meeting. During thier visit the Danish delegation also attended two lectures by the professors of the Department of International Economic Relations held on October 16, 2018.
Attention university community!
Tomorrow, October 24, at 15.00 in the hall of the meeting of the Academic Council of TNEU, a universal university event dedicated to the UN Day will take place. The meeting was organized within the framework of the Global Information Campaign "Global Sustainable Development Goals 2016-2030" with participation of UNDP regional coordinator in Ukraine, Igor Stefaniv.
