Brief description:

Humber offers full and partial renewable tuition scholarships for NEW international undergraduate students beginning classes in January and September 2019.

Scholarship value/duration:

One full tuition scholarship and one $5,000 scholarship are available in January 2019 while seven $5,000 scholarships and two $3,000 scholarships will be available in September 2019. The scholarships will be applied toward the successful students’ tuition fees.

The scholarships are renewable but the student must maintain a minimum average of 75% in order to be eligible for renewal.

Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI)

Brief description:

The University of Adelaide offers Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI) to attract high quality overseas postgraduate students to areas of research strength in the University of Adelaide to support its research effort.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:

The scholarship includes course tuition fees, annual living allowance ($27,082 in 2018), and overseas student health cover (if award holder holds a subclass 500 visa).

The scholarship is awarded for two years for a Masters degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only),

Eligibility:

In order to be eligible, applicants are required to have successfully completed at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree (this is a four year degree with a major research project in the final year). All qualifying programs of study must be successfully completed.  Scholarships will be awarded on academic merit and research potential. Extra-curricular achievements are not considered.

International applicants must not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree or, if undertaking a Research Masters degree, not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Masters degree.

International applicants who have not provided evidence of their meeting the minimum English language proficiency requirements for direct entry by the scholarship closing date, or who have completed a Pre-Enrolment English Program to meet the entry requirements for the intended program of study, are not eligible.

Candidates are required to enrol in the University of Adelaide as ‘international students’ and must maintain ‘international student’ status for the duration of their enrolment in the University. Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia, and citizens of New Zealand are ineligible.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:

The grant covers tuition fee, costs of international travel, subsistence, books, and health insurance. The grant is awarded for a 1 year or 2 years Master’s degree programme.


Eligibility:

Candidates for the Eric Bleumink Fund should:

Have obtained conditional admission to the program of choice
Have excellent academic performance, preferably to be confirmed by letters of recommendation
Have excellent grades during their bachelor/undergraduate studies;
Have excellent English language proficiency, in accordance with the admission requirements of the program of choice
Be available for the whole period of the programme and be able to take part in the entire programme
Be in good health, so that health insurance in the Hold the nationality of a country appearing in Appendix 1.
Have no other means of financing the study in question


Application instructions:

It is not possible to actively apply for an Eric Bleumink Fund Scholarship. To be considered, the student needs to be (conditionally) admitted to one of the Master’s programmes before the 1st of December.

The University Of Maine International Flagship Scholarship

The University Of Maine International Flagship Scholarship

 The International Flagship Scholarship awards are valued at US$10,000 per academic year to international undergraduate applicants.

Who is eligible?

International first-year and transfer undergraduate students are eligible to be considered for this award. Students receiving the Canadian resident tuition rate are not eligible for this award. Sponsored students are not eligible for this award.

How do I apply?

Applicants are considered for this scholarship when their application for admission is reviewed. No additional application is required. Applicants do not need to submit SAT and ACT scores to be considered for this award.

When is the deadline?

There is no application deadline. Applicants to the University of Maine do not need to submit a separate application to be considered for the award.

When are awards made?

Awards are typically made along with an offer of admission to the University of Maine.

Is the award renewed automatically each year?

The award is not renewed automatically each year. Students must maintain full-time enrollment and a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.00 in order for the scholarship to be renewed.  Additionally, the award is for a maximum of 8 semesters (4 academic years) for a student entering as a first-year applicant and 4 semesters (2 academic years) for a transfer student. Recipients of the award must also remain on a non-immigrant student visa F-1 or J-1 to be eligible to hold the scholarship.

Can this award be combined with other scholarships?

Yes, the International Flagship Scholarship can be combined with the Maine Global Partner Scholarship. Students are eligible for other UMaine scholarships such as athletic or departmental scholarships.

University of Maine Intensive English Institute Discovery Scholarship

 University of Maine Intensive English Institute Discovery Scholarship

The Discovery scholarship is valued up to US$2,000 per academic year. All international applicants enrolled at the Intensive English Institute (IEI) at UMaine as well as those conditionally admitted to UMaine are eligible for this scholarship. It is applied as a $500 scholarship for each IEI session for Fall A, Fall B, Spring A and Spring B.


Who is eligible?

International students accepted for English language instruction at the Intensive English Institute or conditionally admitted to an academic program at UMaine are eligible. Students in the IEI Bridge program are eligible for the IEI Discovery scholarship and not for international academic scholarships (International Presidential, Flagship, Dean’s and Maine Global Partner Scholarship). See bottom of page for more information.

Graduate students are not eligible for this award. Sponsored students are not eligible for this award.


How do I apply?

Applicants are considered for this scholarship when their application for admission is reviewed. No additional application is required.

When is the deadline?

When are awards made?

Students with excellent class attendance and satisfactory academic progress may be considered for a second year of this scholarship. Recipients of the award must also remain on a non-immigrant student visa F-1 or J-1 to be eligible to receive the scholarship.

Are conditionally admitted applicants eligible for other scholarships?

The Discovery Scholarship is a pre-academic scholarship for the Intensive English Institute for ESL or conditionally admitted students. Therefore, students can be awarded an academic scholarship once they matriculate at UMaine and start their full-time academic program. The Discovery scholarship precedes the academic scholarship, and cannot be received at the same time as the academic scholarship. Students in the IEI Bridge program are eligible for the IEI Discovery scholarship and not for the academic scholarships.
