EU and Ukraine start dialogue on economic cooperation
European Commission Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis and Johannes Hahn, European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations met key figures from the Ukrainian government on 15 September to discuss the reform agenda and economic cooperation between the EU and Ukraine.EU officials met Deputy Prime Minister Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze, Finance Minister Oleksandr Danylyuk and Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, Valeriya Gontareva to discuss the EU's macro-financial assistance to Ukraine, fiscal policy and public finance management, as well as the reform of Ukraine's State Fiscal Service.
Commissioner Hahn met President Petro Poroshenko, and Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, as well as local authorities and civil society representatives to discover Ukraine's progress across a range of reform commitments. The Commissioner also visited EU-funded reform programmes and the Yalta European Strategy Conference.
